Guilin National Forest Park
The natural beauty of this area is breathtaking. Guilin together with Guilin National Forest Park is one of China's most popular tourist destinations. Guilin is situated about 2,300 km south of Beijing. Its name means "Forest of Sweet Osmanthus" In the city there are the large number of fragrant sweet osmanthus trees. Not far away from the city you can see the world-famous landscape of the Chinese karst. Visiting Guilin National Forest Park is “must to see” tourist destination. Dongting Lake
This is the shallow lake in northeastern Hunan province. The provinces Hunan and Hubei are named after their location relative to the lake: Hubei means "North of the Lake" and Hunan, "South of the Lake". Dongting lake is a flood basin of the Yangtze river. Lake's size is depends of the season. Normal size is 2,820 km2, but in the July-September period flood water from Yangtze river could enlarged the size to the 20,000 km2 ( like a surface of Slovenia).
Yangtze river
Yangtze is the longest river in Asia and the third the longest in the world. It is about 6,300 kilometers long and runs exclusively in China. Traditionally, it represents a border between North and South China. It drains one-fifth of the land area of the China. With several tributaries the river originates in the Tibetan Plateau. The Yangtze plays a large role in the history, culture and economy of China. As well is very important ecosystem and is a habitat for several endemic and endangered species. In recent years the habitat sufferd from industrial pollution. Yangtze is also known due to its 2,039 m long dam named the Three Gorges Dam, for which a 660 km long accumulation lake was created. It is use for hydroelectric power plant, irrigation system and transport.
Zhengzhou
Zhengzhou is the capital of the Henan province with population of 9,500,000 inhabitants. It is prehistorical city dated in Neolithic period and one of the significant birthplace of Chinese civilization. Today is one of the eight Chinese central cities.
